The Organization for Artificial Reefs coordinated four memorial reef installations off Dog Island in July 2026. Walter Marine placed 54 modules at two sites while more than 20 boats carried family members and supporters who watched the work.
The reefs honor Bryce Buda, Spencer Walker, Drew Thompson and Catherine Volding Jones. Each permanent memorial also adds marine habitat in Gulf waters. The project was designed by OAR volunteers and funded through the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
