Okaloosa County deployed 25 3D-printed concrete reef modules across five permitted sites in state waters. 1Print manufactured the structures and shipped them to Orange Beach, where Walter Marine coordinated transport and offshore placement.
Each module measured about 14 feet long and eight feet tall and weighed roughly 15,500 pounds. The pilot formed part of a larger restoration-funded project that also selected Walter Marine to build and deploy more than 250 conventional concrete modules. The work tested a new production method for complex marine habitat.
