Ecosystems: Snorkeling Reef
Bulkheads, dredging, trawling, hurricanes, pollution and climate changes are destroying estuarine habitat at an alarming rate. EcoSystems can provide substitute estuary to mitigate damages or loss of natural estuary. The Florida Fish & Wildlife recognizes the value of this type of artificial reef for the benefit of juvenile fish.
Ecosystem discs mounted on a pedestal can be deployed in any depth for use as an artificial reef. In shallow water or soft bottom conditions, Ecosystems can be mounted on a piling. The Florida limestone rock embedded in the discs provides the perfect PH and substrate for all marine life to utilize EcoSystems as their habitat. The complex nature of the discs placed close together provide a safe habitat for juvenile fish and other marine animals to find protection and food. EcoSystems are ideal for use as mitigation projects.
